Hi everyone,
Here is a cool video with so much vibe in it. It is a band called My Morning Jacket.
I like this band a lot, and the reason I like them is because when I listen to them I get transported every time I hear them.
This song is about the loss of a dear friend of the lead singer. I really feel his longing for his friend in this song, and it is touching because he exposes everything to us without any fear. That is courageous, in my opinion, and it is infectious.
When Jim, the lead singer, goes up in these high notes, his pitch is off sometimes, but it doesn't matter in this context, because he is so confident and in the space, that it sounds good to me. This is a great singer, in my opinion...someone who can tell a story so well that even when the voice goes off sometimes, it sounds good because you are so connected in the story teller's world that the off notes are not even foreign to you.
That is the gift of music. You lose yourself, and all space and time dissolves in the music.
At about 1:35 the singer goes into another space. It is really cool, and I like it a lot. It starts to get into heavy rock after about 4 1/2 minutes, but the main part that I want to show you is the part where he goes into this space starting at 1:35.
Enjoy! Xoxo
