Hi Everyone!
I am so grateful to be able to share with you new news through the blog about what is going on with me and the band. I'll keep you posted regularly about any inspirations, news, updates, etc.
For those of you who don't know yet, the Simrit Kaur band now that includes me with vocals and harmonium, Anthony Molina on guitar and bass, Craig Santiago on drum kit and hand percussion, and Harijiwan on the gong.
Each person in the group is truly a world-class expert of their craft and I am blessed beyond words to be working with them.
Anthony Molina is a multi-instrumentalist, a phenomenal producer and sound engineer, and a true musical visionary. The sound and energy that he has brought with him is pricesless...beyond words. He has an artistic soulfulness that I believe is very rare and I can only give thanks that I have the great pleasure of creating music with him!
I could not have a more perfect percussionist than Craig Santiago. He is a drummer of the HIGHESTCALIBER. He has the chops to bring down the house and the humility to hold a steady rhythm for hours on end (if it were necessary!!). In my experience this is a rare find! Craig plays with the best of them and regularly shares the stage with legendary jazz and reggae musicians. If you have not had the pleasure of hearing us play with Craig yet...you are in for a treat!
And no one plays the gong quite like Harijiwan. The gong is an instrument like no other. It provides a soundscape, a resonance, that has the power to transform thought waves, energy fields and environments. Harijiwan has the ability to play the gong in a way that blends seamlessly with the music and simultaneously provides a potency that is indescribable. This music transcends the simplicity of listening enjoyment...it has the power to transform lives, and Harijiwan's gong gives that power an exponential strength! His presence in this band is a gift beyond words!
We have been creating a new album and sound now for over six months now, and we are bringing this beautiful and fresh sound to you in the next weeks and all throughout the rest of this year and the years to come. For the rest of this year, we will be touring the east and west coast, and we will also be posting videos of some of our performances. So stay tuned.
I have always wanted to have a solid band where we not only create gorgeous soundscapes, but where we also all have the same vision about what we want to do with the energy and music. I am so grateful to be a part of a band where we all can be ourselves and express our unique talents and ideas together to create something spectacular.
I love these guys that I am working with, and they are really cool people to get to know. We all have a genuine respect and admiration for each other, and it shows when you hear and see our collaboration. I have had so much fun traveling with Anthony and Craig, and we've had a blast meeting new people along the way. I can't wait to see you all soon, and I am looking forward to you meeting the rest of the band and experiencing our new sound.
